This is beautifully written Anna & sums up the system that's already in place. More than 50% of PIP claimants have their decision changed on appeal. MORE THAN HALF!!!!!! This is information that the DWP have available on their website. This shows how flawed the current system is. Those who are unable to appeal, either because of their disability or health condition, or just aren't clever enough to are loosing out on the care they need. These are the most vulnerable of an already vulnerable group. I'm going through the PIP assessment process currently. So far my application has been denied, though I have been told to expect this as it is my first claim. What I didn't expect was to have information omitted from reports to work in the favour of the DWP, or for specialist consultant letters not to be accepted as evidence, even when they are directly referring to the component in question. I am about to move to the tribunal part of appeal. My Father-in-Law will be taking the lead on this, as I am too exhausted to fight any more. Much like the boy who hasn't had a growth spurt yet, I feel link giving up. I am lucky though. I have one of the big kids in my corner. Many people don't have this. Xx

Tania | When Tania Talks
