Technology has come a long way in the last few decades, advancing as fast as you go through levels in your favourite game, and each breakthrough has influenced the way we play. Take a stroll down memory lane to see the key stages, and discover what the next level has in store. Press play to start! From coin-ops to consoles Level 1: we’re back in the 70s, in the amusement arcades where electro-mechanical machines are ruling the roost and revolutionising traditional gaming. Here, board games are brought to life, in physical form like Pinball and early digital form such as Pac-Man. These arcades are social hubs, and will continue to draw crowds until the late ‘90s when home video-game consoles hit the scene. Old-school arcades aren’t history yet. You can play your favourite slot games and more on websites and apps dedicated to reviving these formats for the 21st Century. The technology leap Level 2: the 90s have arrived, and with them the early development of home video consoles which can store data internally instead of relying on disks. Earlier models had just a few megabytes of data, compared to modern machines which top at 2 TB – two million MB! As hardware advances, so do graphics. Games go from having simple 2D visuals to rich 3D scenes, able to run the likes of fast fights and chases with reasonable load times. Fast-forward to the present day and this has progressed to massive open-world titles with highly realistic imagery where you can wander freely. Remote socialising Level 3: the invention of the internet. Like that boss that took hours to beat, this win is opening up a whole new world! From the turn of the century, physical presence is no longer required for group games. Individuals can challenge and collaborate with friends via connected video games, from the comfort of home. This culminates in the rise of Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Games which can host thousands of players at once. Gaming accessories are developed to enhance this connectivity, like wireless Bluetooth headphones with microphones, and portable consoles get a revamp so gamers can play on the go while still communicating with their fellow players. Convenience gaming Level 4: we’ve arrived at the present day, where you no longer need dedicated consoles to play digital games. Convenience is king, with a huge variety of games available on websites and apps accessible via our smartphones and powered by 5G mobile. This has led to a casual gaming trend, and a rise in short-play formats such as online casino games that can be easily picked up and put down when the mood strikes. The word ‘gamer’ has taken on a whole new meaning as the pastime has become more accessible, with many of us identifying as such even without owning consoles.

When you slip an engagement ring onto your finger, you’re not only marking a personal milestone but also stepping into a tradition shaped by centuries of belief, fashion, and symbolism. Every culture reimagines the ring in its own way, weaving family ties, rituals, and artistry into the gesture. Some people may prize the sparkle of precious stones, others place value on spiritual meaning, and many see the ring as a promise shared between two families rather than just two individuals. The choices you make today echo a history that stretches far beyond your own story. Western traditions In Western traditions, engagement rings portray romance, luxury, and personal expression. The tradition of diamond engagement rings traces back to the late 15th century, when Archduke Maximilian of Austria gave one to Mary of Burgundy. By the 20th century, clever advertising campaigns cemented diamonds as the ultimate expression of commitment. In North America, the size and brilliance of the stone often speak louder than the design of the band, while European couples tend to favour subtler pieces, such as solitaire settings or rings paired with wedding bands in matching metals. Eastern traditions In Asia, engagement rings are not always the symbol of commitment, but they still hold meaning. In India, you often see intricate gold bands, sometimes set with emeralds or rubies, chosen for their auspicious colours. Families may prioritise the purity of the metal, believing it carries good fortune into marriage. In China, jade plays a symbolic role; a jade ring signals kindness, wisdom and sincerity, making it a meaningful choice if you want a piece with spiritual weight. Japan blends tradition with modernity: many couples choose rings modelled on Western styles, yet the emphasis on refined craftsmanship reflects a cultural value placed on subtle beauty and precision. African traditions Across Africa, engagement customs vary widely. In some communities, rings complement other exchanges, such as the presentation of dowries or ceremonial gifts. South African couples may follow Western trends with diamonds, yet rings carved from wood or braided metals still appear in other regions, carrying personal or ancestral meaning. Family members often play an active role, offering advice on materials or designs. That involvement fosters a sense of belonging and ensures the ring reflects not just two individuals but the wider family bond. Indigenous and tribal traditions Among many Indigenous groups, engagement rings express spiritual and communal values rather than individual wealth. In some Native American communities, turquoise rings carry protective qualities, while silver bands symbolise balance between earth and sky. Tribal communities in the Pacific often craft rings from natural materials such as shells, wood, or bone, each detail connecting the couple to the land. When you choose to honour these traditions, you celebrate community involvement and acknowledge that love exists not in isolation but within a web of shared beliefs and stories. Symbolism and superstitions Every engagement ring tells a layered story. Gemstones like sapphires symbolise loyalty, emeralds suggest renewal, and diamonds represent endurance. Metals carry weight too: gold reflects warmth and prosperity, while platinum signals strength and longevity. Some people believe that placing the ring on the fourth finger of the left hand connects directly to the “vena amoris,” a vein leading to the heart. Superstitions also shape timing, certain cultures avoid exchanging rings on unlucky days, believing misfortune could shadow the marriage. When you understand these layers, your choice becomes more than decoration; it turns into a personal talisman rooted in meaning.

Even a minor car collision can leave you feeling shaken and disoriented. It’s understandable. In those first few minutes, adrenaline takes over and impacts how you think – but that’s often when costly mistakes occur. What you do, or fail to do, immediately after a crash can shape everything that follows: your safety, your insurance claims, and even your legal standing. Here’s a quick guide to the most common missteps drivers make and how you can avoid them. Failing to stop or leaving the scene We’ve all seen the headlines. When panic hits, some drivers’ first instinct is to flee the scene immediately – especially if the collision seems minor. After all, will the other driver really care about a small dent? But leaving without stopping is a criminal offence. If you’re in an accident, stop, switch off your engine and ensure everyone’s safety before exchanging details. The police advice is clear: failing to stop can invalidate your insurance and lead to prosecution. So, take a deep breath, assess the situation, and move your vehicle to safety if possible – but never leave the scene until your legal obligations are complete. Admitting fault or saying ‘sorry’ too soon It’s human nature to apologise after an accident, even when you’re not to blame. But be aware that those words can later be interpreted as an admission of liability when it comes to legal or insurance matters. Whatever you do, avoid discussing fault, cause, or blame until the facts are established. Just talk in a factual and polite manner – focusing on everyone’s safety, exchanging details, and contacting the necessary authorities. Neglecting to gather evidence or witness details You must document all details of the crash properly – strong evidence is the foundation of successful car accident claims, so the more you document at the scene, the better your position later. Once everyone is safe, take photos of both vehicles and the damage done, number plates, the surrounding area, and any road markings or skid tracks. Also note the weather, lighting conditions, and time of day. Get names and contact details (emails and phone numbers) of witnesses, as their statements can later support your case. Delaying the insurance notification or claim process Delays in reporting can really derail your claim. Even if the damage appears minor, you need to tell your insurer about the accident as soon as possible. Policies often require notification within a set timeframe, and if you wait too long, it can void the coverage. If you’re dealing with smaller injuries, the Official Injury Claim portal provides a quicker and more streamlined process for lower-value cases. If you have any doubts at all, call your insurer right away so they can guide you through repairs, medical assessments, and claim steps. Stay calm, safe, and smart after a collision Accidents happen, but that doesn’t mean you need to panic and lapse into poor judgment. By staying calm, documenting the scene thoroughly, and following legal procedures, you’ll protect not just your claim but your safety and peace of mind on the road.

The peak of cosy season is here and we couldn’t be more happy about it! And to celebrate it, we’re having looking toward Scotland for a little inspiration for getting into the cosy atmosphere. There’s something special about the way Scotland does the colder months, so it’s definitely worth exploring. As soon as the air gets cold and the nights stretch longer, the country seems to wrap itself in a blanket of warmth and charm. It’s not just about keeping warm, it’s about celebrating the season with traditions that make winter feel alive rather than gloomy. From the sound of fiddles in village halls to the comforting smell of baking drifting through old stone houses, Scotland knows how to make the cosy months feel full of life and heart and hopefully you will too after reading this. Read along and let’s go on a ride together! A whisky toast and good company When the weather turns wild and the wind howls outside, a wee dram of whisky becomes more than just a drink, it’s a ritual. The Scots have long understood that a good whisky isn’t just about taste, it’s about connection and comfort. Sitting by a roaring fire with a glass in hand, friends swapping stories, and laughter echoing through a cosy pub, that’s the Scottish way to stay warm. Distilleries across the Highlands and Islands often welcome visitors even in winter, offering tastings that feel like a deep dive into the country’s soul. And it’s not just about the drink itself. Each whisky has its own story, shaped by the landscape around it, from the peaty smokiness of Islay to the smooth sweetness of Speyside. To get into this tradition, you can visit Scotland and even take home some whisky related Scottish gifts. You can use them to have a Scottish inspired drinks night or to simply just remember the traditions of the Scots. It’s a tradition that’s been passed down for generations, and one that captures the very essence of Scottish hospitality. Highland feasts and comfort foods Moving onto everyone’s favourite subject: the food. Scotland’s winter menu is a whole world of comfort that deserves a mention. When the days are short and the air bites at your nose, nothing hits the spot quite like hearty Scottish cooking. Haggis might get all the attention, especially later on in January, but there’s so much more to dig into. Think warming soups like Cullen skink, a creamy smoked haddock dish that tastes like the sea and home at the same time. Or slow-cooked stews filled with tender meat, root vegetables, and rich gravy that you can mop up with crusty bread. And of course, there’s shortbread, buttery and crumbly, often baked in big batches to share with friends over a cup of tea. Food in Scotland during the cosy months isn’t just about filling your belly, it’s about gathering people together and sharing warmth in every bite. Stories by the fire Long before streaming and screens, Scots passed the dark nights by telling stories. Well, we probably all did, but the Scottish stories are quite charming and creative. And they kept more of this tradition than other cultures. And that’s the main point, this lovely tradition still lingers, especially in rural areas where community and folklore are deeply rooted. There’s something timeless about a group of people gathered around a crackling fire while someone spins tales of selkies, fairies, and brave warriors. The Scottish landscape itself seems made for stories, with misty lochs, ancient castles, and moody glens that stir the imagination. In many small towns, you can still find ceilidhs during winter, lively gatherings filled with music, dancing, and storytelling. A ceilidh isn’t a formal event, it’s a joyful mix of laughter, songs, and sometimes a bit of chaos, but it perfectly captures that feeling of togetherness that defines Scottish winters. Hogmanay When it comes to ringing in the new year, nobody does it quite like the Scots. Hogmanay, as they call it, is so much more than just a party. It’s a national celebration packed with fire, music, and good cheer that lights up even the darkest winter nights. Cities like Edinburgh throw massive street parties with live music, fireworks, and thousands of people joining hands to sing Auld Lang Syne as midnight strikes. But the real magic can be found in smaller towns where locals gather in pubs or community halls to dance, share drams of whisky, and welcome the new year with warmth and laughter. There’s also the quirky tradition of “first-footing,” where the first person to enter a home after midnight brings good luck for the year ahead, usually carrying gifts like coal, shortbread, or whisky. It’s the kind of celebration that leaves your cheeks rosy and your heart full.

Your personal style is so much more than the clothes you wear. Think of it as a visual story that tells others who you really are. You might lean toward minimalist neutrals. Or perhaps you can’t get enough of bold prints and colour. The key is finding a look that feels authentic and effortless. Read on for some practical ways to define your personal style, from self-reflection and experimentation to building a capsule wardrobe that works for every season. What is ‘personal style’? Personal style is the unique combination of choices that makes your wardrobe unmistakably yours. It reflects your mood, values, and self-image. When your clothes feel aligned with who you really are, you’ll suddenly find that you carry yourself with more confidence and ease. And there’s a practical side as well – developing a consistent personal style means no more time wasted in front of the mirror feeling unsure about what fits the occasion or your personality. Self-reflection: Know yourself before knowing your style Before diving into trends, take a moment to reflect on what you actually enjoy wearing. What colours, textures, and silhouettes make you feel at ease? Does your professional role demand tailored pieces, or are you at your best in relaxed, creative environments? For example, if you’re a teacher, you might prioritise comfort and durability. If you’re in the design field, you might be freer to experiment with structure and colour. Let your lifestyle shape your aesthetic. From film icons to influencers: Inspiration is everywhere When it comes to personal style, the good news is that inspiration is all around you. Look for celebrities, stylists, and even anime characters whose wardrobes resonate with you. Use platforms like Pinterest or Instagram to help you curate a digital mood board. Over time, you’ll spot recurring themes – perhaps a preference for 1970s tailoring, French minimalism, or vintage florals. Use those clues to guide future purchases. Experimentation: Find confidence through trial and error Style is rarely static – you need to make sure that it evolves with you. But be intentional about it. Try mixing fabrics or pairing unexpected pieces to see what feels fresh. Sometimes, the most surprising combinations – a crisp blazer with distressed jeans, or trainers with a satin dress – can become your most authentic looks. Conduct a wardrobe audit regularly to identify what works and what doesn’t. Let’s face it, if you haven’t worn that corduroy jacket in two years, it’s probably just not your style anymore. Build a capsule wardrobe that works year-round A personal style is simple and streamlined. That’s where a capsule wardrobe comes in. The focus is on versatility: fewer items, but ones that mix and match seamlessly. Think quality basics like tailored trousers, a white shirt, classic knitwear, and a few bold statement pieces. Create a rotation of women’s dresses so that you can bridge work and social occasions effortlessly. The goal isn’t to limit your creativity but to make daily dressing simple and stress-free. Discover your signature look Developing a personal style is not something that happens overnight – you discover it through reflection, curiosity, and being willing to experiment. By paying attention to what feels right and refining it over time, you can easily build a style that not only looks good but feels uniquely yours.

Whether we’re talking about birthdays, Christmas or just an appreciation gift, surprising someone you love is one of the best feelings for everyone involved. When someone is important to you, you’re constantly looking for ways to show them and make them feel that way. And surprising them with something they’ll love is such a great way to do this. In this article, we’re talking about how to surprise someone with a city break, and how to plan ahead for the best wow effect. The best thing about this kind of gift is that it creates memories, not just a one-time reaction. Long after the trip is over, the person you surprised will still look back at it and think of how much effort and love went into planning it. That’s why city breaks work so well as surprises, because they’re thoughtful, personal and full of shared experiences that you’ll both treasure. We know you can’t wait to see the smile on their face, so read along and get ready for the perfect surprise. Anticipation gifts When knowing you’ll surprise someone, it can be very hard not to tell them straight away. This happens because you know how excited they’ll be and you just can’t wait to share that excitement with them. So if we’re talking about a city break surprise, this gets even harder, as it is a shared experience that you’re also excited for in advance. A way to tackle this is by getting a small gift related to the bigger surprise and seeing a first reaction. For example, if you’re planning a city break to Ireland, look for some Irish inspired gifts, like the ones here: https://www.gaelsong.com/prod_detail_list/celtic-gifts-for-her and get something that will hint at the trip. This way, you can see their reaction towards that culture, and when you finally tell them about the actual surprise, they’ll be able to connect the dots and see how much time was put into the surprise. Make sure you choose something that goes with their lifestyle or interests, so that it’s not just about that culture, as they might be onto you easily. A keychain, a mug, or even a small piece of jewelry inspired by the destination will spark curiosity without giving too much away. These anticipation gifts make the final reveal so much sweeter, because they’ll realize the thought process behind it all. Subtle hints There’s a certain sense of mischievousness when planning a surprise for someone who is close to you. It feels like you know a secret that they don’t, and everything they say can give you even more excitement, if that’s something they wanted for a long time. Dropping some subtle hints to see how they react to them is a great way to prepare them for the big surprise without breaking the secret. You can read some articles about the destination country and talk about “the news” with them, see if they’re up to date with that certain place. You can also talk about some music, traditions or anything that might spark their interest when it comes to that country. Just make sure you don’t drop too many hints, so that they don’t get the idea to surprise you with the same thing. Make sure you’re very subtle, and if you think they might catch on, stop the hints for a while so that they forget about it before you drop the big news. Even changing the wallpaper on your phone or leaving a travel magazine out on the table can be fun ways to plant little clues. These playful moments build suspense and give you the joy of watching their curiosity grow without ruining the big reveal. Surprise setting Now that you’re through and it’s time to reveal the big surprise, first things first there’s a huge congratulations. Keeping a surprise secret is very hard, and if you live with that person or see them regularly, it gets even harder. But when the time comes, make sure that the setting and the way you break it to them adds to the surprise. You can think about a small treasure hunt around the house, a presentation about the place before telling them you’re going, or even plan a cultural night and then telling them that this is just the beginning. Make sure you don’t put them on the spot if they’re not a very reactive person, so don’t tell them in front of their family or friends, as they might feel uncomfortable. The way you reveal the surprise should match their personality, because you want them to feel relaxed and genuinely excited. Some people might love a big reveal in a fun public setting, while others will prefer the intimacy of a private moment at home. Adding a personal touch, like preparing their favorite meal or playing music from the destination, can make the reveal unforgettable.

Separation is a deeply emotional and often complex experience, especially when children are involved. Whether it’s a mutual decision or an emotionally charged situation, the process of separating as a family comes with significant challenges, particularly for the children who may be involved. Whether you’re navigating the early days or adjusting over time, handling separation with compassion, clarity, and trusted support can truly ease the journey forward. This guide explores how families can approach separation thoughtfully, with a focus on communication, stability, and professional guidance. Communicating with Children During a Separation Children can be particularly vulnerable during a family split, often feeling confused, scared, or even responsible for the changes. That’s why clear, calm, and age-appropriate communication is essential. It’s important to talk openly with kids and offer honest comfort without placing blame on anyone, and reassuring them that both parents still love and support them. As the NSPCC highlights, steady routines and calm, open conversations can offer children a sense of safety during uncertain times. Encouraging questions and emotional expression helps reinforce resilience, and your presence matters more than you may realise. Establishing a Co-Parenting Plan Creating a co-parenting plan that works for everyone can reduce tension and promote stability for your children. Agreements around custody, school drop-offs, holidays, and decision-making responsibilities are essential. A helpful place to start is Citizens Advice, which offers clear guidance on the choices available to parents when arranging child contact. Families who put these arrangements in writing, especially with legal guidance, can avoid miscommunication and ongoing disputes. When both parties agree and prioritise the child’s needs, it fosters a healthier post-separation dynamic. Seeking Legal Advice and Understanding Your Rights In addition to emotional and logistical concerns, separation involves important legal and financial decisions. From understanding your rights around property division and custody to setting up child maintenance, legal advice is invaluable and can provide peace of mind. Working with experienced divorce solicitors can help ensure you make fair and informed decisions, legally sound, and in the best interests of your family. Whether you’re pursuing a formal separation or initiating divorce proceedings, working with legal professionals can bring clarity and ease during an emotionally complex time. Looking After Emotional and Mental Wellbeing Separation impacts adults and children differently, and it’s important to prioritise mental health throughout the process. Emotional support, such as therapy, support groups, or open conversations, helps families process grief, anger, and confusion healthily. As Family Lives recommends, seeking professional help can be very beneficial. Don’t underestimate the emotional impact of separation; caring for your well-being enables you to better support your children. Moving Forward Together Separation is never easy, but it doesn’t have to be chaotic or destructive. With open communication, fair and structured planning, and the right professional guidance, families can navigate the transition with grace, creating new arrangements that continue to prioritise love, respect, and stability. Support is available every step of the way.

It may not be the most romantic aspect of a relationship, but staying organised as a couple is key to maintaining a happy and balanced relationship, particularly when it comes to managing time, responsibilities, and finances. Whether planning your daily routine, saving for future goals, or managing shared expenses, working together as a team can reduce stress and help you stay on the same page. This article will explore a few ways that couples can improve organisation for a more harmonious life together. Creating a Shared Calendar Disagreements often arise when couples are unaware of each other’s plans. Therefore, creating a shared calendar is a great way to coordinate appointments, social plans, and family responsibilities. This can also make it easier for you to find time in your busy schedules to spend quality time together – something that is essential for a healthy relationship. Managing Finances as a Team Money is the leading cause of arguments in relationships, which is why you should manage your finances as a team. This means creating a joint budget to control monthly spending, setting savings goals to work towards, and discussing major expenses together. If you are struggling with debt, you can explore solutions like debt consolidation loans to ease financial strain and simplify debt repayment. Dividing Household Responsibilities Household responsibilities should be shared to prevent resentment and create a balanced partnership. This is why it is important to discuss and share tasks so that both are pulling their weight. You could rotate different chores or agree on who does what if they have a particular skill or preference. If one partner enjoys cooking, for example, then they can be responsible for preparing meals, while the other partner is responsible for cleaning up afterward. Setting Long-Term Goals Together In a relationship, you should always be thinking about your future and what you want out of life. Therefore, it is wise to discuss the future and set long-term goals to work towards. This might include things like home ownership, travel, marriage, pets, and children. By setting goals together, you can then find ways to achieve these goals and avoid setbacks that could harm your relationship. Organisation may not be fun or romantic, but it is a key component of a healthy, adult relationship. The advice in this post should help you get organised as a couple so that you can create a harmonious, balanced, and responsible relationship that will improve your lives both now and in the future.

You know that feeling when you’re part of something bigger than yourself? It’s a sense of connection and belonging that can turn ordinary moments into something meaningful. But sometimes, you might feel disconnected. You don’t have to settle for feeling on the outside. With a little effort, you can reconnect, engage, and start feeling like a valued part of your community again. It might not happen overnight, but it’s worth taking the steps toward creating stronger, more fulfilling connections. Move Somewhere New Sometimes, the best way to connect with a community is to move to a location where you have more opportunities to engage. Your current neighbourhood might not offer the vibe you’re looking for, or perhaps the people you meet just don’t share your values. Moving to a new place could be the key to meeting like-minded people and getting involved in something you care about. Many new build homes are designed to encourage community interaction, with shared spaces like parks and communal areas, making it easier to form bonds with those around you. The close-knit nature of these areas, where young families and couples often settle, means you’ll naturally have opportunities to connect with neighbours, whether you’re at the local coffee shop or walking in the park. Make an Effort Feeling part of a community requires putting in a little time and effort. While it’s easy to hope that others will reach out, taking the first step can lead to rewarding results. You could start small by joining a local activity, whether that’s a neighbourhood book club or a local fitness class. It’s also about bringing people together. If you live in a development or on a street with several homes, why not set up a group chat to stay in touch? Become More Active Exercise isn’t just good for your body; it’s also great for your social life. Whether you enjoy running, hiking, or simply walking, getting outdoors can help you meet new people. Often, we pass the same faces every day during our walks or jogs, and over time, these small interactions can lead to friendships. As you get to know people in your neighbourhood, you may start to find new walking buddies or join group activities that spark new interests. Not only does this help your physical and mental health, but it also creates opportunities for regular conversations with others, turning everyday activities into a chance to feel more connected. Be Yourself When trying to connect with others, the most important thing you can do is to be authentic. It’s easy to get caught up in trying to fit in or impress others, but it’s the real you that will make the strongest connections. People are naturally drawn to others who are genuine, and by embracing your true self, you’ll attract people with shared values and interests. The relationships you build from a place of honesty and trust will be the ones that last. Trying to be something you’re not can only lead to frustration or superficial connections, so focus on being authentic, and you’ll naturally find people who appreciate you for who you are.

Screen printing has become a go-to method for small business owners and wholesale boutique operators. This technique allows you to transfer an image onto a surface—like a sweatshirt—by pushing ink through a fine mesh screen. It’s particularly valuable in the wholesale clothing world because it lets you create customized designs without having to stockpile a lot of niche inventory. If a customer requests something specific, you can easily accommodate them without the risk of leftover stock. If you’re specializing in wholesale sweatshirts, you’re in luck—sweatshirts are one of the easiest items to screen print. But before you load up on blank sweatshirts for your shop, it’s important to choose the right fabrics and styles. Not all materials work equally well for screen printing. And while cost is always a consideration, choosing the cheapest fabric could lead to disappointing results. The Best Fabric for Screen Printing: Cotton When it comes to screen printing, 100% cotton—and cotton blends—are hands down the best options. Cotton’s natural fibers absorb ink exceptionally well, resulting in sharp, vibrant images that look clean and professional. In contrast, synthetic fabrics often repel the ink, causing it to bleed and blur. And let’s face it—no one wants a sweatshirt with a smudgy or faded design. Cotton is also durable, meaning your prints will hold up through repeated washes and wears. We’ve all been there: you buy a sweatshirt with a cool design, and after a few washes, the image starts cracking or peeling. With cotton, that’s far less likely to happen. Cotton-Polyester Blends: The Best of Both Worlds If you want to offer a wider range of styles, consider cotton-polyester blends. While cotton is breathable and easy to print on, it can shrink. Polyester, on the other hand, brings flexibility and shape retention to the mix. A cotton-poly blend lets you offer stylish, fashion-forward sweatshirts without sacrificing print quality. You’ll still benefit from the cotton fibres that absorb ink beautifully, while the polyester adds durability and helps the garment keep its shape over time. Fabrics to Avoid While cotton and cotton blends are your best bets, some fabrics are much harder to work with. Steer clear of materials like fleece, corduroy, burlap, and nylon. These fabrics either have too much texture or too little absorbency, making it difficult for the ink to transfer cleanly. The result? Distorted images, inconsistent prints, and an overall lower-quality product. For example: Fleece, corduroy, and burlap: Too textured, causing uneven ink application and blurry prints. Nylon: Too smooth and non-absorbent, resulting in faded or incomplete images. The Bottom Line If you’re looking to create high-quality, customized wholesale sweatshirts, you can’t go wrong with 100% cotton or cotton-polyester blends. These fabrics provide the ideal surface for clear, durable screen prints. There’s a reason cotton is often called “the fabric of our lives”—it’s reliable, versatile, and consistently delivers great results.
