I have been tagged in the Bedtime Tag! Thanks to Grumpy Mummy for that. (I may have thought there was a prize of more sleep – not the case) Anywhooooo, here we go…
1. Describe your usual bedtime routine
We take the children up to bed around 6.30pm. Once they are hosed down, teeth cleaned and stories read it’s 7pm. After a LOT of fraught months, our eldest (6yo) now settles immediately and goes straight to sleep. Our youngest (2yo) will settle straight away if he hasn’t napped or will chatter and sing to himself for a while if he has napped. We head downstairs, Rory will do some exercises or go for a run/to the gym while I stare at the wall in silence drinking wine work on my blog. Then we cook dinner, watch something we recorded about 10 months ago then go to bed.
2. What are your favorite pyjamas?
I have these lovely red tartan trousers and cream top, they’re just like Christmas only maybe less exciting.
3. What is your favorite bedtime reading?
I haven’t read a book in 6 years. I did buy Oliver James ‘How not to f**k them up’ but I never read past about page 20…..Assume from that what you will.
4. What would I find on your bedside table?
I don’t have the space for a bedside table, our bedroom is too small. Don’t even get me started on our bedroom! Yes an en suite is a lovely idea but it renders a whole wall useless!
5. What scents make you sleepy?
I LOVE scented candles, the particular brand I like do a coffee one, it makes me feel snug and ready for bed,
6. What is your usual bed time and wake-up time?
I try to go to bed around 10pm, anything past that and I’m panicking at how little sleep I may have. Now both are sleeping through (touch wood) we USUALLY wake at 6.30 but the littlest has quite enjoyed 5.30am these last few days….
7. What are your top 3 bedtime products?
Oh, that’s a bit fancy for me!
8. What is your most common sleeping position?
On my side, usually hugging the duvet much to Rory’s annoyance.
9. Do you have anything you like to take to bed with you?
My phone is always next to the bed…..
10. What is your worse bedtime habit.
Checking social media before bed and maybe when I wake in the night to.
