Christmas Lights Trail at Temple Newsam Leeds.
The nights are drawing in, the summer holidays are a distant memory and Strictly is back on our TV, that can only mean one thing…it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
If you know me, you know it’s NEVER too early to start thinking about Christmas but some of you just insist on waiting a little longer. One thing we can all agree on is that now is the time to start looking for and planning any Christmas visit you might want to make as spaces book up quickly.
One of MANY events happening in the Leeds area this festive season is the Christmas Lights Trail at Temple Newsam.

From November 26th to January 2nd the vast grounds and gardens of Temple Newsam estate will be transformed into a glittering, twinkling light trail. With spectacular light installations, classic Christmas tunes, a carpet of gentle colour changing spheres, neon strings stretched between towering trees, a flotilla of festive, brightly coloured boats bobbing on the lake, glitterball snowmen and plenty of selfie moments along the way it will be an utterly magical event.
New Christmas Light Trail Highlights for 2021
- Christmas Cathedral – This majestic Cathedral, adorned with over 100,000 pea-lights and almost 50 metres long, is stunning to look at from a distance or to immerse yourself within, making it an Instagram showstopper.
- Neon Tree – its branches interwoven with multicoloured neon lights.
- Tree Stars – a woodland wrapped in stars that shimmer and sway in the moonlight.
If walking amongst thousands of twinkling lights while listening to Christmas songs isn’t quite enough to make you feel all festive and cosy, there will also be independent street food vendors offering a variety of delicious treats. From toasted marshmallows or hot chocolate to a spiced winter warmer, I’m sure you’ll find something to warm you inside and out.
