What To Do When You’re Feeling Stressed Out & Overwhelmed

Being a parent is a very rewarding role but can also be stressful at times. You likely have a lot going on if you’re trying to balance your career and home life.

It’s best to recognise when you’re feeling out of sorts and to take action before time passes and you end up feeling worse. You can feel better and have brighter days ahead when you take good care of yourself and learn how to manage your emotions and anxiety. Take the time to learn more about what you can do when you’re feeling stressed out and overwhelmed so you can enjoy your days and live life to the fullest with a smile on your face.

Exercise & Move More

Exercise is one of the best ways to manage and reduce your stress. If you’re feeling overwhelmed then put your workout clothes on and go break a sweat. It may help to have a gym set up at home or you can head outside when the weather is nice. Not only exercise but also get more daily movement in to feel healthy and well. If pain and discomfort is making you moody or keeping you from exercising then it may be time to contact Dr Ian Edwards Chiropractor and see what he can do for you. It’ll help free you from tension, injury, and stress so you can get back to taking proper care of yourself.

Talk About it

You may want to consider talking about your feelings or situation when you’re feeling overwhelmed and stressed out. It may help to open up to a friend or family member who can listen and offer advice about how to proceed. It’ll feel good to get what’s bothering you off your mind and know that you’re not the only one who experiences stress and anxiety.

Ask for Help

It might be in your best interest to reach out and ask for help when you’re feeling stressed out and overwhelmed. The people around you may not know you’re feeling this way unless you speak up and tell them. Your spouse, friends, or extended family members may be able to step in and assist you so that you don’t feel so bogged down by all your responsibilities and to-dos. For instance, maybe you can have someone else pick up the kids from school or have your family members pitch in with cleaning the house.

Take A Break

If you’re feeling stressed out and overwhelmed then all you may need is to take a break away from it all. Don’t be afraid to go on holiday and remove yourself from your work and home life for a while. It’ll also help if you take a look at your schedule and begin to say no to others so you can free up more time for yourself and self-care. Admit to yourself when you have too much going on and then take action to ensure you have enough downtime and breaks mixed in so you can rest and feel less anxious and overwhelmed.
